After 2 years of waiting for my security clearance it was referred to counterintelligence. They have asked me for more information due to red flags. I had a DUI in 2018, my lawyer referred me to a in patient treatment center hoping it would help me case, it didn’t. They started if I don’t include my medical records from the treatment center when I respond they will deny my security clearance. The treatment center stated they don’t release records to previous patients and would only write me a letter even though I showed proof it would deny my clearance and rescind my job offer. Then I sent a letter stating my rights under HIPAA after a few days (mind you I was only given 20 days to comply) they once again denied my request stating fear I might harm myself. Not to mention in the letter they sent it stated I came to them having had 6 DUIs in 15 years. Which is completely untrue an unethical and I now have until Monday to comply with the request of counterintelligence. Strange they though
