Israel has been at work covertly to stop Iran from completing their furtherance of making an atomic bomb, so that that that prediction never came to pass.
Here is one source that explains what Israel had tried:
Over the years Israel had conducted various covert actions against Iran’s nuclear program. One of the most famous one happened in 2010, when the Stuxnet computer virus had damaged up to 1,000 centrifuges, out of 5,000, located in Natanz. The same site was sabotaged again on July 2, 2020, when an explosion occurred there.[xvii] Another method was aimed at those who work for Iran’s nuclear program. In 2010-2012 several Iranian nuclear scientists were assassinated. On November 27, 2020, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was assassinated. He was the mastermind of Iran’s nuclear project.[xviii] Israel did not take responsibility for those strikes.
