Fenbendazole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic widely used in veterinary medicine to treat internal parasites in animals. It is effective against a range of gastrointestinal worms, including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and some tapeworms. In livestock such as cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs, fenbendazole helps maintain weight gain, feed efficiency, and overall productivity by reducing parasite load. It’s also commonly used in horses to control strongyles, pinworms, and ascarids.

In companion animals like dogs and cats, fenbendazole is prescribed to treat and prevent intestinal worm infestations. It's considered safe, with a low risk of side effects, making it suitable for regular deworming schedules.

Beyond routine parasite control, fenbendazole has shown some effectiveness against certain protozoa, such as Giardia, particularly in dogs. Off-label use has been explored in other species including birds, reptiles, and exotic pets.
