Meaning they don't make freezers as well as they use to. The freezer I have in the basement was my mother-in-law's old freezer, it's older than my husband... lived on her back porch without heat through Minnesota winters, for 40 some years before moved to my basement... it's over 60 years old, still chugging along. Geesh, hope I don't jinx it, don't want to have to replace it with one that lasts 10 years tops.

It's time to bring back US made products, more important time to bring back quality made products that lasts for years.

I have had the same experience. We had my grandma's freezer, a Sears brand. It lasted 69+ years.

but also when China and other countries took over manufacturing from the US, they made cheaper versions of the old American made products. Chinese used inferior raw materials and
inferior production.
They sold us poison dog food, sheetrock that fell apart, etc, etc, etc.
While it's not the only issue, Chinese crap have filled lots of landfills.
My experience with only one Chinese product
When the Chinese opener did not even work once, I had to throw it out.
And thank goodness, I did find one made in America!
