Gaetz has more influence as a Senator. Trump nominates him. Libs have a cow. Then De Santis thinks Gaetz would make a great Senator, and since there is an opening in Florida--due to Mark Rubio's exit (nominated by Trump) and Trump gets what he originally wanted.

This is similar to what happened to Nikki Haley who served as governor of South Carolina 2 and Trump nominated her as 9th U.S. ambassador to the United Nations from January 2017 to December 2018. Wasnt governor anymore.
