...Under the city charter, the president of council will serve as mayor for no more than 60 days. This means Foster is now mayor temporarily, but he also will continue to serve as president of council.
Within the next 60 days, according to the charter, a majority of council must appoint someone to serve as mayor temporarily. That person will serve in office until the November election, when voters will have the chance to elect someone to -->complete Shubert's term, which expires Dec. 5, 2023.
