In order to maintain society you need a birth rate approaching 2.1.
If the birthrate gets as low as 1.7 it takes 100 years to reverse.
If it gets lower it never recovers.
Many European countries are down to 1.2 - 1.4.
I believe Japan has been that low for a very long time.
Narcissist self-interest in society eventually cause it's long term collapse.

Muslims in France are 12% of it's population. But they have 25% of the babies.

Want to preserve your way of life? Have lots of children. ;-)

Have you been watching real estate prices?

If people were dropping off at unusual rates, families would be unloading their properties.

Most areas still either have an inventory shortage or sellers can afford to sit on ridiculous prices, often double from early 2020 prices.
