This is the Fisher Effect as written by Irving Fisher about a hundred years ago. In today's Finance textbooks they even write that it "came be known" as some subverted equation linked to CPI data. Lies, lies and more lies. I even notice that many original citations have been scrubbed from sites like Wikipedia. Recent Q posts are very interesting. Yes, even as late as the 70s Public Finance textbooks listed the Inflation Tax as method of general revenue. Did they think we would forget? that we are stupid? that they can suicide us all?!
