We have gone the Direct Primary Care route, completely outside of the health insurance racket. Hubby and I pay $80 each per month and have 24/7/365 access to our Dr. We never pay a co-pay and we get same day appts or can call, text, email our Dr directly anytime. It has been wonderful, like having an on call country Dr. They do in office lab work for around $5 per draw, have a small in office pharmacy if needed for antibiotics/etc and they have negotiated much lower rates with other specialty offices if we need to somewhere else. This is patient led and directed care, not beholden to the corproate health care monsters.
