For those who think Russia is all the way on the other side of the world...It is about 55 miles from us at the narrow tip of the Bering Strait.
However, in the body of water between Alaska and Russia, known as the Bering Strait, are two small islands known as Big Diomede and Little Diomede. Interestingly enough, Big Diomede is owned by Russia while Little Diomede is owned by the US.
The stretch of water between these two islands is only about 4 km wide and actually freezes in the winter so you can technically walk from the U.S. to Russia on this seasonal sea ice.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday cleared the way for blank-check acquisition company Digital World Acquisition Corp’s merger with Donald Trump’s media and technology company.

Digital World said a registration statement for its proposed merger with Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the operator of social media platform Truth Social, was declared effective by the SEC.
