I mean, they bend over backwards to make you think they’re representatives of Jesus.

This war is a constant balancing act between maintaining your own inner resources (and not getting dangerously depleted) and performing in the world (fighting the good fight). In a way this is absolutely ordinary, but the divergence of social realities means it is extremely difficult in practise. We face abysmal behaviour by many who are close to us, and have to spend enormous energy staying engaged in non-optional but draining relationships and situations. Our coping strategies have costs that come due, and responsibilities we kick down the road insistently return. I find a numbness creeping over me as the emotional battering takes a toll. Nonetheless, an unceasing vision of victory and a better future motivates a return to form no matter how far I feel I have fallen. There is always just enough progress to sustain hope and prevent sinking into self-pity. The shoots of freedom are breaking above the ground; our hard work promises a harvest of justice, hungry as we are for resolution.

I never imagined that I would ever face so much censorship and social ostracism for an almost naive dedication to the pusuit of truth. It never occurred to me that I might find myself losing most of my friends and allies, and getting no support from those who professed liberal principles. Economic attack via deplatforming has been real hardship and angst, making me dependent on personal charity. Will I ever get validation, recognition, and credit for my efforts? It ceases to be relevant; no matter how painful and frustrating, the truth is the truth, and you cannot regret picking integrity over popularity. The legacy of being steadfast in refusing to bend to the “acceptable lie” is bigger than oneself, even if you cannot exactly pinpoint where it falls. My self-reproach is limited to more superficial failures of character and conduct, which is about as good as any flawed human can hope for. Has been a surreal journey through very strange times.

I promise that I mean NO disrespect, but it has always bothered me when He in relation to God Almighty is not capitalized. Even certain Bibles don’t do this. I am from a time when He discerned Him from the rest- just a thought. No complaints- honestly- just sharing my heart ❤️
